Androgen Therapy and Male
HRT are both effective treatments for cancer of the prostate.
With age, the rate of multiplication of prostate cells increases,
leading to an enlarged prostate gland. This a non-cancerous process
known as benign prostatic hyperplasia [BPH].
Prostate cancer results when this rapid multiplication gets out
of control and mutation of prostate cells occurs. The increased
rate of multiplication is driven by increasing levels of DHT. If
the conversion of testosterone to DHT is prevented, BPH does not
occur and can even be reversed once it has developed. Such intervention
is known as Androgen Therapy or ADT.

A far better treatment is to maintain balance of male hormones,
thereby preventing prostate cancer in the first place. Unfortunately
in our 'sickcare' rather than 'healthcare' society, male hormone
replacement therapy is not widely publicised. Find out more
